Happy (Belated) Birthday

   Happy Birthday to you,
   happy birthday to you,
   happy birthday dear Meow Meows,
   happy birthday to you.

*Theoretical confetti explosion* Today is my Meow Meow's 2nd birthday! I feel all sentimental and nostalgic, I'm guessing this is how a momma must feel about her baby. It feels like just yesterday she was crawling into my baseball cap to get a snooze.
Considering the importance of this day, I think its only fitting to tell you the story of how we adopted Meow Meow...
Have you ever had one of those crappy days that you're this close to punching someone in the face? Well, that was the day I was having especially after an extremely upsetting dinner. Lucky for me, my sister (Kaz) was there to protect humanity from me.
After dinner, Kaz asked if we could head over to the Pet Supermarket across the street. She was in need of fish supplies. With a sigh, we walked over there, stepped in the door and saw them counting change. I figured that they were closing soon, so we started back towards the car.
But then, I turned around and saw that they weren't closing for another hour. As Kaz looked at her fish stuff I decided to shop for a new dog toy for Honey. I started towards the dog section when I passed a cat adoption kennel. I glanced in and that's when I saw a tiny black kitty reaching for a toy that got knocked out of the cage; I picked it up and gave it back to her. But she knocked it out again, and soon enough I realized we had a game going.
Suddenly, the little kitty yawned. I realized she was getting tired and the store was closing soon but there was one thing I had to do before leaving. I had to hold my new friend. I found a nice employee and she kindly opened the cage for me and handed me a tiny black fuzz ball. As I held Meow Meow she didn't fight my strange hands, instead, she snuggled up to me and sat down.
Every once in a while I heard her meow asking me if I was going to bring her home. But how could I adopt her? We were possibly moving and already had a dog. In a heart-wrenching moment, I placed her back in the cage and closed the door.
Can you guess what happened the next day? Yep, I came back to play with her and hold her. And the next day, and the day after that, and the day after that. Until one day I figured that I would cry for days if someone else adopted my friend.
Ever since that day, I'm proud to call myself a crazy cat lady; Sorry Honey, I still love you too.
